Mid-Review

 


Progress

The semester is finally over and I can finally get some rest and relaxation. This project has evolved quite a bit over the semester, but it has maintained its clarity of an architecture defined by horizontal bands and striations. Initially, the project developed out of reference to sheet music and musical notations and how different instruments could be layered upon one another resulting in harmony.

What resulted out of this research was an architectural image based upon musical score. The blue bands that you see are actually individual swimming lanes. They work to seperate the different zones of the building but still allowing for visual connection even between unprecedented adjacencies of program.
